Fly rugs
A fly rug protects the horse against dust and insects, which often pose a major problem during the summer months. Fly rugs also protect horses with sensitive skin from too much exposure to sunlight and they can even prevent sunburn. Fly rugs are generally very inexpensive. Higher priced versions made of high-quality synthetic fabrics are also available, though, and some models have full necks and fly masks for the head.
