Gel pad features

With a gel pad for your horse, you can compensate for a saddle that doesn't fit properly, to a certain extent. The gel layer of the pad lying between your saddle and the horse's back, adapts to both, fills gaps or reduces pressure points.

The different types of gel pads

There are different types of saddle pads with gel, depending on whether the saddle is to be raised at the back, in the middle or at the front. You choose the gel pad to balance the saddle, depending on how it lies and where the rider's centre of gravity is shifted:

  • Slightly moulded gel pads that are raised at the back, for example, also raise the saddle slightly at the back and thus shift your centre of gravity slightly forwards.
  • Gel pads that are raised at the front provide more space at the withers and can prevent pressure points here.
  • In our range you will also find gel pads that are raised in the middle, so that you can support your saddle in the middle and distribute the pressure optimally.

Gel pads for horses with sheepskin

In order to provide further protection in addition to the pressure distribution and the raising properties, there are gel pads with a sheepskin trim. The sheepskin provides additional protection and comfort for your horse at the withers and behind the pommel. Pads are available from Horze and other well-known brands such as Acavallo or Karlslund
