It features a lightly padded anatomical browband, anatomically shaped padded headpiece and a removable wool pad on the nosepiece that prevents pinching. A D-ring joins the noseband and cheek pieces, allowing the pieces to sit smoothly against the horse's cheeks and jaw. This helps to provide a tailored fit for different jaw shapes and the back strap can move independently. The grackle noseband is worn higher on the horse's nose than regular bridles and helps to keep the horse's mouth closed without affecting its vision or comfort.
