Lunging girths for work on the lunge line

If you want to lunge your horse, you will like to use a lunging girth. Its many rings give you various possibilities to support your horse with auxiliary reins or lunging aids. The lunging girth runs around the horse's back and belly and is also a first step in training young horses to get them used to a saddle later on. The lunging girth usually consists of two parts, similarly to a saddle girth. The strap running along the horse's belly can be adjusted on both sides.

Lunging girths with rings

The rings which can be found in different positions on a lunging girth allow you to buckle different types of auxiliary reins and thus optimally support your horse in its ground work. You can find lunging girths and other lunging accessories such as a Cavesson from brands such as Christ, Imperial Riding, Kavalkade and F.R.A..

Lunging girths are available in many different variations. If the girth is lined with synthetic fur, you can place it directly on the horse's back, because the synthetic fur prevents chafing. If your horse is prone to chafing, you should use a lunging pad for a girth without synthetic fur. This is adapted to the shape of the lunging girth and cushions any pressure and chafing points. Alternatively, you can also use a saddle pad

Lunging girths are an essential part of your lunging equipment. They can be made of leather or nylon and are attached around the horse's belly behind the withers in order to be able to buckle the auxiliary reins. Rings attached at the top allow the horse to stand up properly while on the lunge.
